Data encryption is the process of turning data that is readable into coded text which can only deciphered with the right password by authorized users. It is an important component of cyber-security that ensures data security and keeps confidential information from being accessed by unauthorised users.
A common type employs mathematical look here models that are cryptographic, which convert the original information into a jumbled collection of characters (also called ciphertext). Additionally, encryption protects backup systems from hackers as they cannot access the data in its original format.
