Avast ultimate is a security program with an excellent detection rate and excellent extra features. Its malware scanner scored 100 percent in my tests. Also, its web security blocked websites that posed as phishing sites that were able to bypass Chrome’s and Firefox’s default security. Other features include a Rescue Disk and a secure browser for online shopping and banking. Advanced tracker blocking is also included.
The interface for users of the suite is user-friendly. The main screen displays the list of its most important tools with clear icons that describe their functions. The color scheme of Avast is orange, white, and blue. It’s easy to read and pleasing to the eye.
In the Explore menu, you can get more specific options for each tool, including custom scans, boot-time scanning as well as an automatic updater. You can also save a certain type of scan to the “Scan Center” so that you can run it again at a later time.
As one of the more advanced features, Avast’s anti-virus can help prevent ransomware attacks by securing your system for suspicious activity and encrypting all files that could be targeted. It can even identify a trojan horse (a malicious program that is able to sneak into your computer disguised as genuine software) and stop it from running on your system.
